Daf 750 with Variomatic - Brochure (cover)

"Fierce, fast" and "Modern, economical, comfortable"

Although the Daf 600 was praised for its good handling, there was criticism that the driving characteristics invited a stronger engine. That is why the Daf 750 was developed. The model owes its name to the capability of the engine: 746 cc was rounded up to 750. The new engine was equipped with forced air cooling by means of a fan and cooling tunnels and delivered 30 hp, 8 more than the engine in the 1st and 2nd types Daf 600. This engine eventually found its way to the 600, 750, Daffodil (30/31/32), 33, 44 and 46 and thus remained in production until 1976.

The Daf 750 came on the market in September 1961 in 3 variants: the Sedan, Pick-up and Van. In the same year, DAF also launched a luxury version of the 750, which was marketed as an independent model as 'Daffodil'. In 1963 the Combi version of the 750 was introduced.

The Van was the workhorse for many governmental services such as the Dutch Post and municipalities. Up to the B-pillar, the car is equal to the Sedan and then the Van gets a different spacious body with lots of storage space. The Daf 750 Van had the Standard equipment level, so with ivory-colored surrounds for the grille and bumpers.

The Pick-up has a sturdy open loading platform that can be closed with a tarpaulin. Loved by many municipalities for its simplicity. It benefited from the model improvements but continued to be called 750. The version was always standard, but with more choice in colors.
